Cuando un inmigrante quiere obtener la tarjeta verde hay una serie de formas para conseguirla, pero la que menos requisitos tiene es la loterÃa de la tarjeta verde. Estar casado con un ciudadano Americano también da derecho a solicitar la tarjeta verde, pero no está al alcance de todo el mundo como tampoco lo está el conseguirla por un pariente próximo que viva en los EEUU.

¡Que Viva la Salsa! $9.98 There are many, many salsa compilations out there, all of which claim to be good, and only some of which actually are. The fact that Que Viva la Salsa was put out by Fania, one of the genre’s biggest and most influential labels, bodes well for the album, which, with its 14 songs, is a pretty good collection, though it does, with its La Lupe, Mongo Santamaria, and Joe Bataan contributions, move away some from salsa and into the Latin pop realm. However, great tracks from Tito Puente, Ismael Miranda, Ray Barretto, and Celia Cruz and Johnny Pacheco all but make up for any place in which Que Viva la Salsa goes a little astray. There are, of course superior compilations (The Greatest Salsa Ever, Vol. 1, for example), but this one is still pretty decent, with some songs (like Orquesta Harlow’s “Yo Soy Latino” and Willie Colón’s “El Malo”) that haven’t already made it onto hundreds of albums before this one, which just means that it’s a bit more interesting for the already knowledgeable fan, and just plain fun for everyone else. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide |

Que Viva Mexico! (DVD) $23.14 A legendary production plagued by problems almost from the outset, the making of QUE VIVA MEXICO cured Sergei Eisenstein of the desire ever to work in North America again. On the verge of leaving Hollywood in disgust in 1930, Eisenstein accepted financing from a group of investors, led by writer Upton Sinclair, to make an ambitious film on Mexican culture. When the director ran out of money before shooting was completed, Sinclair shut down production and seized the extant footage. More than 40 years later, the film was turned over to Eisenstein's assistant, Grigori Alexandrov, and he edited what remained according to the director's notes. The film consists of three vignettes: Sandunga, Manguei, and Fiesta. The first explores the precolonial world of the Incas, observing ancient architecture and detailing pagan religious practices and langorous mating rituals. In the second, a murderer is punished for his crime in an unusually graphic and barbaric manner. The third features a brilliantly photographed bullfight. There was to be a fourth episode, Soldadera, dealing with the 1910 revolution. Although it was never shot, Alexandrov describes Eisentein's intentions with the aid of still photos and sketches.
